# QuestionPunk vs Tally

Canonical page: https://www.questionpunk.com/compare/tally

Tally and QuestionPunk both have a free plan with unlimited responses under fair use. Tally is a form builder with payments, signatures and file uploads. QuestionPunk asks AI follow-up questions on open answers, runs voice interviews and writes up what people said.

## The short answer

Pick Tally for forms that do a job: sign-ups, orders, payments, applications. Its free plan covers unlimited forms and submissions, and Pro adds branding removal and team workspaces for $29 a month. Pick QuestionPunk when the answers are the point: the AI asks a follow-up when an answer is vague, respondents can answer out loud, and the results come back as themes and quotes. Both free plans have unlimited responses, so the choice comes down to what you are collecting.

## Where QuestionPunk wins

### AI follow-ups on open answers

Turn on follow-ups for an open question and the AI asks about the answer the respondent just gave. On the standard models they use no AI credits, on Free too.

### Voice interviews

Respondents can answer out loud in any of 25 languages while an AI interviewer asks follow-ups. Voice minutes come out of your monthly AI credits.

### Research methods and analysis

MaxDiff, price sensitivity and quotas, fraud flags on every completed response, and a report with themes and quotes.

## Where Tally wins

### Unlimited submissions for free

Tally’s free plan includes unlimited forms and submissions within its fair use guidelines, plus payments, signatures and file uploads up to 10 MB.

### Flat price, unlimited members

Pro is $29 a month, or $290 a year, and you can invite unlimited team members.

### Integrations on the free plan

Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Zapier, Make and webhooks are all on the free plan.

## Looking for a Tally alternative?

If your Tally forms have started doing research work, such as a customer interview, a churn study or a concept test, QuestionPunk keeps surveys and responses unlimited and free, and adds AI follow-up questions. Voice interviews and analysis use the AI credits each plan includes every month.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Tally free?

Yes. Tally’s free plan includes unlimited forms and submissions within its fair use guidelines; its fair use page gives 50,000 submissions a month, sustained, as an example of heavy use. Removing Tally branding needs Pro. QuestionPunk Free also has unlimited surveys and responses under fair use, with AI text follow-ups included and no credit card.

### How much does Tally Pro cost?

On tally.so in October 2026, Pro is $29 a month, or $290 a year billed yearly, and Business is $89 a month. Both are flat prices with unlimited team members. QuestionPunk Pro is $50 a month or $500 a year, and it is not priced per seat either.

### Does Tally ask AI follow-up questions?

We did not find it on Tally’s pages when we checked in October 2026. Tally’s AI builds and edits forms in the editor. QuestionPunk’s AI asks respondents follow-up questions while they answer.

### Can I move a Tally form to QuestionPunk?

Copy the questions out of Tally and paste them into the AI builder chat after you sign up. It rebuilds them as a survey you can edit. There is no direct Tally import.
