Save individual questions to your Question Bank and insert them into another survey.

Last reviewed: 2026-10-12

## Before you start

Open a survey you can edit in the desktop builder. Prepare the question wording, answer options and required setting before saving it.

## Steps

### 1. Save a question

In **Build**, open the question and use the bookmark icon labeled **Save to Question Bank**. Wait for **Saved to Question Bank**.

### 2. Find a saved or built-in question

In the destination survey, open **Add Question → Question bank**. Search by question text, title, category or tags. Use the category buttons to narrow the list.

### 3. Insert and review

Select the question to insert it. Review the wording, options, required setting and position in the new survey. Preview it in its new context before publishing.

### 4. Remove an unused saved question

Use the trash icon labeled **Delete saved question** beside a saved entry. This removes the library entry; review carefully before clicking.

## Details

Use the Question Bank for individual questions and templates for whole surveys. A reused question still needs review for its new audience, language and surrounding questions.

## Check the result

The destination survey contains an editable question copied from the bank.

## If something goes wrong

If you do not see the save icon, check that you have edit access and are using the desktop question editor. If search returns nothing, clear the search and choose All. Saving a question does not save an entire survey or promise to recreate relationships with other questions.
