Audience: Event and class organizers, Researchers, Small businesses

## Before you start

You need a Stripe account, or a few minutes to create one when you connect. Payments are in USD, EUR or GBP. The smallest payment is 0.50.

## Steps

### 1. Connect Stripe

Open **Settings > Integrations** and choose **Connect Stripe** on the **Payments** card. Stripe opens so you can sign in to your account or create one. You are the merchant of record: payments, refunds, disputes and payouts are in your own Stripe dashboard.

### 2. Add a payment question

In the builder, add a **Payment** question. Under **Payment Type**, choose **Fixed amount**, or **Variable amount (respondent enters)** and set **Minimum amount** and **Maximum amount**. Under **Currency**, pick USD, EUR or GBP.

### 3. Check that it charges

Once Stripe lets your account take payments, the question's settings say **Respondents pay by card through Stripe.** Until then they say **Not collecting money**, with a **Connect Stripe** link, and respondents only confirm the amount. Previews never charge.

### 4. See who paid

Each response shows what it paid. The **Payment** filter on the Responses list shows paid, unpaid or refunded responses. The question's report shows the total collected, and CSV and Excel exports add Payment Amount, Payment Currency, Payment Status and Payment Intent ID columns.

## Details

Respondents pay by card or Link, or with Apple Pay or Google Pay when their browser supports them. The card form is part of the survey, and a bank's 3D Secure check opens over the page, so nobody leaves the survey to pay.

Stripe charges its processing fee to your Stripe account. QuestionPunk takes 2% of each payment on the Free plan, and nothing on Pro, Team, Enterprise or during a trial.

Refunds and disputes happen in your Stripe dashboard. QuestionPunk updates the response when Stripe reports them. Webhooks can send `payment.succeeded` and `payment.refunded` events, and the Slack, Teams and Discord integrations can post them.

## Check the result

Respondents pay in the survey, the money goes to your Stripe account, and each response shows whether it paid.

## If something goes wrong

If the question says **Not collecting money**, open **Settings > Integrations**. If the Payments card shows **Finish setup in Stripe**, finish it there. If it says **Stripe is reviewing**, Stripe is still checking your account, and **Open Stripe dashboard** shows what it needs. On a team survey, the team owner's Stripe account collects, so the owner connects it.
