Where QuestionPunk Panel participants come from
QuestionPunk Panel recruits participants through Prolific. How they're paid, what you can ask them, and how to use your own Prolific account instead.
QuestionPunk Panel participants are recruited through Prolific, an opt-in platform where people sign up to take part in research studies.
Before you start
Publish your survey before you recruit. QuestionPunk Panel needs no Prolific account; connecting your own is optional.
Details and limitations
Who the participants are. When you recruit with QuestionPunk Panel, QuestionPunk publishes your study on Prolific, an opt-in research participant platform. Participants signed up with Prolific to take part in research and choose which studies they join.
How payment works. Before you publish, the recruitment form shows the total price: participant pay plus panel fees (including any VAT). Paid plans get lower panel prices; see pricing. It's taken from your QuestionPunk credits when you publish and refunded if publishing fails. QuestionPunk pays Prolific, and Prolific pays the participants.
What you can ask. Participants are identified only by a pseudonymous Prolific ID. Don't ask for names, email addresses, phone numbers or anything else that identifies them.
Screen-outs. A participant your screening questions turn away inside the study is paid a small fixed amount for their time.
Using your own Prolific account. If you have a Prolific researcher account, connect it in Settings > Integrations > Prolific with your API token and Connect. Studies then run on your Prolific account, Prolific bills you directly, and QuestionPunk charges no fee.

Check the result
Your study collects answers from Prolific participants, paid from your credits, without asking for their personal details.

If the recruitment form shows a cost you don't expect, check which funding source it shows: your QuestionPunk credits or your connected Prolific account.
