Create packaging designs

Use dieline templates to build packaging concepts, then add them to surveys with Design questions.

Design is a standalone tool for creating packaging concepts, separate from the survey editor. Use the Library to browse dieline templates, the Editor to design on a dieline, Vectorize to turn raster images into vector art, and Projects to manage saved work.

Before you start

Decide whether you only need to browse and design as a guest or whether you need an account for downloads and AI features. Prepare any logo or photo file you want to trace in Vectorize.

Steps

  1. Browse the dieline library

    Open Design studio from the sidebar. It opens the Editor. Then open the Library to browse standard packaging dieline templates and box sizes. You can browse without an account.

  2. Design in the Editor

    Choose a dieline to open the Editor. The dieline is placed on the board and ready to edit. You can design as a guest. You need an account to download your work or use AI generation, mockups, and AI review.

  3. Trace images with Vectorize

    Use Vectorize to turn a raster image, such as a logo or photo, into clean vector art in your browser. You can use it casually without an account.

  4. Manage projects and settings

    Saved designs appear in Projects. Use Design settings to manage packaging defaults separately from your account-wide Settings. Open Projects and Design settings from the Editor. Library and Vectorize are separate pages linked from there.

  5. Add the design to a survey

    Add a Design question to a survey. Then embed your finished Packaging Design concept so respondents can react to it and give structured feedback.

Details and limitations

Design is a separate product area alongside Concept Testing. It is not part of the survey editor. The main sidebar has one Design studio entry. Inside Design, a local navigation bar lets you switch between Editor, Projects, and Design settings. The dieline Library and Vectorize are linked from within Design, not listed as separate sidebar items.

The Library is a browsable catalog of packaging dieline templates and standard box sizes. When you pick a size, the Editor opens with that dieline already placed on the board.

The Editor is the design canvas where you build a packaging concept on the dieline. You can design without signing in. Downloading, AI image generation, mockups, AI review, and turning a design into a concept test require an account.

Vectorize is a standalone raster-to-vector tracer. It turns a logo or photo into clean vector art in your browser, with no upload required. Guests can use it, with a daily limit for anonymous visitors.

You can embed finished designs directly into a survey with the Design question type. This lets you collect structured respondent feedback on packaging concepts without leaving QuestionPunk.

Check the result

You should have a packaging concept open or saved in Design, and you should know how to place it into a survey with a Design question.

If something goes wrong

If you cannot find Library or Vectorize in the main sidebar, open Design studio first and use the links inside that product area.
