Notifications and email preferences
Manage in-app notifications and choose which email alerts you receive.
QuestionPunk sends in-app and email notifications for survey activity, AI analysis completion, and account events. Use Settings to choose which notifications you receive. Per survey, you can also send each respondent a confirmation email with a copy of their answers, and include the answers in your own new-response email.
Before you start
Sign in to the account whose notifications you want to manage. Open a survey or your account menu so you can reach the bell or Settings.
Steps
Open in-app notifications
Click the bell icon in the top navigation bar to open the notification dropdown. Unread notifications show a dot, and the bell shows an unread count badge up to 99+. Use the Unread tab to view only new notifications. Click Mark all read to clear them.Know what notifications you can receive
There are eight notification types: Survey responses (new responses received), AI review (survey review completed), Survey analysis (AI analysis finished), Synthetic responses (synthetic test run completed), PPT export (PowerPoint generation ready to download), Survey generation (AI survey generation completed), Consultant report (AI report generation finished), and Study notifications (invitations or reminders for a diary study wave failed to send). Team notifications, including invites and access requests, also appear in the bell.Open the full activity list
Click See all activity at the bottom of the notification dropdown to open the notifications page. That page shows your 30 most recent notifications. Opening the page marks them all as read.Set email preferences
Click Notification settings in the dropdown, or go to Settings > Account Preferences. Manage three toggles there: Response Alerts (the first-response email and in-app notifications for new survey responses), Account Notices (account updates and the daily response digest email), and QuestionPunk Updates (product tips and feature announcements by email).Understand the daily response digest
When Account Notices are enabled, you receive a daily summary email for surveys that received new responses in the last 24 hours. Only real responses are counted. Synthetic test responses are excluded. The Response Alerts toggle separately controls the in-app version, sent as one summary per survey per day.
Details and limitations
The notification bell in the top navigation bar shows survey activity and completed background tasks in real time. The unread count badge shows how many new notifications are waiting.
Notifications appear when background tasks finish, including AI analysis, synthetic test runs, PowerPoint exports, survey generation, and AI report generation. They also appear when something needs attention, such as a diary study wave whose invitations or reminders failed to send. Each notification includes a direct action link such as "View report", "Download", or "View responses".
Three toggles in Settings > Account Preferences control what you receive. Response Alerts covers the first-response email and in-app notifications when surveys get new responses. Account Notices covers account changes and includes the daily response digest email. QuestionPunk Updates sends product tips and feature announcements by email.
The daily response digest email is sent when Account Notices are enabled. It lists surveys that received new real responses in the last 24 hours. Synthetic test responses are filtered out. The Response Alerts toggle separately controls the in-app summary, with one summary per survey per day.
Check the result
You should be able to review recent notifications and confirm which email and in-app alerts are enabled in Settings > Account Preferences.
If something goes wrong
If you do not see an expected email, check whether the matching toggle is enabled in Settings > Account Preferences.
