Quizzes and scored answers
Score multiple-choice questions, set a pass mark, and choose what people see after they submit.
A quiz is a survey where multiple-choice questions have a private answer key. QuestionPunk grades each attempt, shows the author the score, and shows respondents as much or as little as you decide.
Steps
- Start a quizOn the home page, choose Quizzes and describe what participants should know, or paste training material. You can also turn any survey into a quiz by scoring its multiple-choice questions.
- Set the answer keyOpen a multiple-choice question and turn on Score this question. Choose the correct answer. For several correct answers, turn on Several correct answers and check each one. A multi-select question is only correct when every keyed option, and nothing else, is chosen.
- Set points and an explanationGive the question a number of points (1 to 100; the default is 1). Add an optional explanation, such as why the answer is right. Respondents see it with their graded answer when you allow it.
- Add a pass markOpen Survey settings and set a Pass mark, the percent of points needed to pass. People then see Passed or Not passed with their score. Leave it empty for no pass mark.
- Choose what people seeUnder Quiz results, pick one of four levels: score and correct answers, score and what they got wrong, score only, or nothing. Publishing is blocked until every scored question has a correct answer chosen.
- Review attemptsThe Results tab shows a quiz overview: graded attempts, average score, pass rate, and how many people got each question right. Your Results always show every answer, whatever respondents see.
Each attempt is graded against the version of the quiz the person took, so editing a published quiz never changes the score of earlier attempts.
What respondents see. Score and correct answers marks each question right or wrong and shows the correct answer and your explanations; it suits practice and training. Score and what they got wrong marks each question without revealing the answer, though on a two-choice question a wrong mark still gives it away. Score only shows a result such as 4 / 5. Nothing shows the usual thank-you screen and keeps the answer key private, which suits hiring or certification. The answer key is withheld on the server, so a hidden key never reaches the respondent's browser.
AI result summary. Describe the summary you want, for example a playful two-sentence verdict, and an AI writes one for each person from their answers and shows it with their score. See AI result.
Translations. Option order and count are edited in the source language; translated wording stays editable. See multi-language surveys.
