Choose between chat, sequential, and traditional survey layouts.
QuestionPunk supports three display modes that change how respondents experience your survey: Chat (conversational), Sequential (one question at a time), and Traditional (classic form layout).

Steps
- Open survey settingsClick the Settings button in the survey editor to access display mode options.
- Choose a display modeChat (default): Conversational interface where questions appear as chat messages with AI-powered follow-ups. Best for qualitative research and engaging respondents.
Sequential: One question per screen with forward/back navigation. Clean and focused.
Traditional: Classic form layout with all questions visible on one page. Familiar for quantitative surveys. - Preview and testPreview your survey in the selected mode to confirm the experience matches your research goals. You can switch modes at any time before publishing.
Chat mode is the default and most distinctive QuestionPunk experience. Questions appear as a conversation, and AI follow-ups feel natural.
Sequential mode presents one question at a time with clear navigation, ideal for longer quantitative surveys.
Traditional mode shows all questions on one page, similar to conventional survey tools. Use this when respondents need to review or change answers easily.
