Coverage: 85,382 tracts and 242,297 block groups in the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. ACS 2020-2024 five-year release. 14 tracts and 39 block groups in Suffolk County, New York have no estimates at the source and are absent. No boundary shapes.

Why pay for public data

Pulling every tract and block group from the Census API means thousands of calls, then renaming every coded variable. Small-area estimates are also noisy. Every estimate here keeps its margin of error, and the documentation says how wide those margins are.

How it is built

    Pull 23 ACS five-year tables for every tract and block group.

    Rename coded variables to readable columns and keep the margin of error beside each estimate. Long tables keep every source variable.

    Add state, county, metro area, centroid and land area from TIGER/Line 2024 and the July 2023 metro delineation. Rebuilt on each annual release.

Questions

Is this data not free from the government?
Yes. The source files are public and we link to them. You pay for the cleaning, the joins, the documented schema and the refresh, not for the data itself.
How is it delivered?
As Parquet or CSV files, by download link or to your own cloud bucket. The same tables load into Snowflake with the scripts we include. A Snowflake Marketplace listing is being set up and is not live yet.
Can I see the data before paying?
Yes. Ask for a sample and we send the Vermont rows from every table, plus the full data dictionary.
How reliable are block group numbers?
They are noisy. For the median block group, the margin of error is 30.7 percent of the population estimate and 33.3 percent of median household income. For the median tract it is 13.8 and 20.6 percent. Every estimate ships with its margin of error so you can filter or aggregate.
Are all variables available for block groups?
No. 239 of the 325 source variables are published for block groups. Poverty and foreign-born tables are tract level only.
Does it include map boundaries?
No. It has a centroid and land area for each area. Boundary shapes are free from the Census TIGER/Line files and join on GEOID.
